The report consists of aerial, topographic and soils maps and a soils description. A $35 fee covers administrative cost for preparing the report and copy expenses. Otherwise, soils information may also be obtained through the NRCS WEB Soil Survey at www.websoilsurvey.nrcs.usda.gov.

If you wish to obtain a soils report from the DCD, you may request a soils report in person at the Office at 690 Industrial Blvd. in Delta or you may down load a

Salinity Control - EQIP & BSPP

EQIP - The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is a voluntary conservation program for farmers and ranchers that promotes agricultural production and environmental quality as compatible goals. EQIP offers financial and technical assistance to eligible participants for installation or implementation of structural and management practices on eligible agricultural land.

EQIP contracts provide incentive payments and cost-shares to implement conservation practices. Persons who are engaged in livestock or agricultural production on eligible land may participate in the EQIP program. EQIP activities are carried out according to an environmental quality incentives plan developed with the producer that identifies the appropriate conservation practice or practices to address the resource concerns. EQIP may cost-share up to 75 percent of the costs of certain conservation practices. Limited resource producers and beginning farmers and ranchers may be eligible for cost-shares up to 90 percent.    Click here to learn more

BSPP - Basin States Parallel Program parallels EQIP offering rural landowners financial assistance of up to 75% to reduce the contribution of salt to the Colorado River from irrigated agricultural land. By using the program, rural land owners can reduce the amount of salt entering the Colorado River. The program is administered through the Colorado State Conservation Board working with six western Colorado Conservation Districts: Delta, Bookcliff, Dolores, Manco, Shavano and Mesa/DeBeque-Plateau Valley.
