The Mission of the Delta Conservation District is to help ensure the preservation of the District's natural resources and to promote the wise use of these resources. The District combines available technical, financial and educational resources and coordinates efforts that meet the needs of the local land user. • development of a salinity control program
• providing soils information for sound resource planning • forming conservation plans which include grazing and cropping systems, irrigation water management, rangeland improvments and conservation plantings
|
The Mission includes providing a leadership role in the preservation of natural resources. The Delta Conservation District provides leadership by:
- identifying natural resource concerns through local workgroups
- providing local leadership to state and federal programs that affect natural resource conservation within the state
- coordinating conservation efforts, activities, and funding for local conditions, needs, and priorities
- working directly with land owners and offering technical advice on natural resource concerns
- hosting educational tours, workshops and seminars
- sponsoring youth and teachers to attend conservation camps and workshops
- serving as the communications conduit from local citizens to local, state and federal government agencies
