The Delta Conservation District has developed a guide to water-wise landscaping for the surrounding area, "A Guide to Xeriscape in Western Colorado". Click the word "Xeriscape" above to see the guide.

Micro-Hydro
The DCD is partnered with local, state and federal agencies as well as organized ditch companies to map ditches within the district to analyze where opportunites exist that have the potential to generate electricity.  The DCD partnered with Delta Montrose Electric Association on a brochure designed to determine where micro-hydro is applicable. Click the word "Micro-hydro" above to view the guide.

Toadflax Project
The Delta Conservation District is partnered with the US Forest Service and Delta and Gunnison Counties to treat a 640 acre Toadflax infestation near the headwaters of the North Fork of the Gunnison River in the West Elk Wilderness. After two years of treatment, the Toadflax is 80% controlled and the grass and forage density have increased.

Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG)
The DCD was awarded funding to identify and map areas of high salinity and selenium along with areas where water conservation practices have been applied by the NRCS within the District and to target those areas where water conservation practices are not known to exist. The funding comes from DCD Partner, the Colorado River Water Conservation District.

NFRIA
(North Fork River Improvement Association) - The Delta Conservation District is partnered with NFRIA and has given NFRIA funding for water quality monitoring.
